Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I don't think it is accurate to describe Hideaway Beach as an attraction. Hideaway Beach is a private gated community on Marco Island. The shoreline along the water adjacent to the private homes of the Hideaway Beach Community is accessible primarily by boat. It is a gorgeous location along the Big Marco River and Gulf of Mexico. However, this area is really not a public beach that you can drive to or walk to easily unless you are a guest or a member of the gated private community.
In the past couple of years, marco Island removed the word "beach" from the signs leading to the gated community to read "Hideaway Community." There is often a debate among politicians about taxpayer funds being used for renourishment projects along the shoreline because of limited public assess.
Facilities within the community are excellent for members and guests.

We purchased a home in Hideaway Beach last spring and it was one of the best decisions we ever made. We have a young family and even though the majority of the property owners are retired, we always feel very comfortable and accepted. We love the security, the amenities (tennis, golf, fitness, pool), the quality of food at the onsite restaurants and the genuinely nice people that live and visit Hideaway.

Even with an invitation, because we don't life here we were looked at as lower class and not aloud in the bar area. Having said that the food was good and our waitress was friendly and very efficient.
Next time we are 'invited' I think I'll be busy.

Everywhere you look within three blocks of the beaches on Marco Island you see these "No Trespassing" signs. I have never felt so unwelcome as I have in the Beach vicintiy of this community. Having spent most of my life around beaches, I can't imagine why anyone would come to Marco Island as a Tourist for its beaches.

the beach is a waste of time, on changing tide it is dangerous, the current flies on low tide there is a huge drop off and on high the water is moving way too fast. the rich snobs dont want you there yet they had the county pay for the beach restoration and ruined the end of tigertail beach, typical Marco waste money and do it wrong

Marco Island is the most unwelcoming place on the west coast. Just gates and ”keep out” and ”no trespassing” signs. All other cities on the west coast welcome visitors and offer lots of beach access. Marco has sold out to real estate developers.

We have had a home in Hideaway Beach for 13 years. It has everything that you could possibly wish for- tennis, golf, snack bar and delicious dining room/bar. Weekly entertainment and a sports center that is outfitted with the top of the line equipment. A trainer is available and yoga classes are offered. The Beach is quiet and tranquil.

Hideaway Beach is a beautiful white sugar-sand, crescent-shaped beach on Marco Island's northwest Gulf of Mexico shore. Land access is only through the private club or walking from Tigertail Beach at low tide or docking a boat up to the mean high-tide mark. There is a large sand shoal formed off Tigertail and Hideaway beaches called Sand Dollar Island. It is a huge stop for migrating bird life on the Atlantic flyway. One can also anchor a boat at Sand Dollar Island to observe the wildlife but it is not advisable to walk across the lagoon to Tigertail or Hideaway beaches because strong tides come in.

Hideaway Beach is a public beach with public toilets. They receive federal, county and local? funds to restore (adding sand) the public beach. If it was a private beach then they couldn't get the funds.
So I don't understand people saying it is a private beach.
You can walk to it from Tigertail close to the lagoon.
Why do you say it is private?

The City of Marco Island website lists all the beach accesses ... but TA doesn't allow me to copy and paste it here ....so
Go to the City of Marco Website and search "beach access map"
Tigertail Beach Public Beach access is displayed .. it is Number 2
