The "Pass", as locals refer to it, was created by a hurricane on September 27, 1848. A pirate, John Levique, made the first passage through the newly created pass. Hence the name, Johns Pass. Located on the waterfront at Johns Pass, this quaint turn-of-the-century fishing village is Pinellas County's #1 tourist attraction. Over one hundred merchants inhabit the Village with unique retail shopping, a variety of restaurants, the local fishing fleet, dolphin watching and shelling tours, boat rentals, parasailing and jet skiing.

I love going to John's Pass, I try to go when I visit. There are so many unique shops. They are not just clothing and souvenir shops but many different varieties. There's so much to do, from shopping to fishing, eating and relaxing on the beach. I would recommend you go check it out.

This cute little area has all sorts of entertainment. From shopping to sight seeing, from strolling around to just sitting and relaxing, you name it. There is a lot to do so if you are the kind of person that enjoys getting to know everything you possibly can from one place, you might want to dedicate a whole day to... More

Yes, you need to pay for parking, and yes, it is quite a touristy place, but it is still a great place to stroll along the boardwalk, watch the pelicans, look for dolphins, and enjoy some decent seafood, or just a drink. Lots of little shopping places to browse as well. Overall a great spot to wander for a couple... More

I suppose if you want to look at the ocean and possibly some sea life okay, but the village reminded me of a run down fisherman's village. Stores, restaurants, and other local entertainment stops, all of which are run down, make you wonder why all the traffic. Was very picky about which place to eat at on the ocean, and... More

Thanks for stopping by the Pass. Sorry you had a bad time. I'm not sure where you ate but I promise you there are very tastey spots. Judging from your review of low-quality, I recommend Waltz Fish Shak - fresh off-the-boat fish daily. It's tough to be the quality you'll find at Waltz. I enjoy Pirate's Pub N Grub on... More

We enjoyed the boardwalk and quaint shops. Our favorite, The Spice Shop and Paw Paw. Parking is $2 per hr. We will return again.

Thanks for visiting us at The Pass and taking the time to leave a review. Good tip on the parking - it is set to raise from the City of Madeira Beach to $3/hour. If you are staying for more than an hour, you should consider taking the trolley from your hotel [or the Park Blvd boat ramp - $5... More

Thought this might be a cute shopping village with local shops. It kinda is, but there are like 8 ice cream shops (why?) and half the shops sold mostly thirst of typical beach or crude saying variety. Probably wouldn't return, mainly a tourist trap place.

Thanks for stopping by the Pass. Sorry it disappointed you with too many ice cream shops and souvenir stores. If you want more unique shopping items, start at the north end of John's Pass Village - there are many more shops with unique items. Hope you give us another shot in the future. Thanks again for the review. More

Thanks for visiting us at The Pass and taking the time to leave a review. Lori's Soap is awesome! All the soap and sponges are made and harvested right here in Tampa Bay. We hope to see you again soon! More
