A lovely view of a crater lake with an option of a great walking tour around the lake which can take you few hours if the weather is good. Dont miss it.

We were so pleased to take the off road track to go to the Shalala Mirador. The view is even more spectacular from that angle than the classic mirador in the small town of Quilatoa. Well worth the diversion.

Once you arrive Quilotoa village and would like to do more than just stay in the hotel, make a small trip to Mirador Shalala - it will take you a maximum of 1 hour to take there, the same time to come back.

While this is a popular destination for hikers, it's also a great experience for families too! Just know that getting back up is steep and hard. My husband wore our 18 month old son on his back and really struggled getting up. You can thankfully...More

Besides trying to go there on a clear and sunny day, I would also recommend observing Quilotoa not from the main viewpoint where everybody goes (sorry, but don't remember the name of the community that runs it) and which offers a donkey ride back from...More

Absolutely awesome! So worth the hike up there as its spectacular. Just a note, when continuing on to Quilotoa take the route going up around the ridge rather than going down and back up as the latter is more dangerous and is used as the...More

It is about 7 kms around the lake perimeter for hiking guide. It can get very windy and there are many narrow trails. But you are rewarded of the spectacular view and the wildflowers, tons of lupine, paintbrush, yellow slippers and local species. The lake...More

The place is just incredible. And the 3-4 hours walk around the crater is really worth it. Best moment is early in the morning, around 9

hay un nuevo restaurante en el alojamiento operado por la gente local. Sólo abre ciertas horas. Esa es la mejor apuesta que tienes para comidas decentes.
