I've always seen people in this area and wanted to be there! So much action happening on either side of the bridge. Today, I brought a chair and sat near the water and watched my favorite Floridian bird, the pelican, hunt for lunch. It was so pleasant, it cannot be described. I then took my family back later before sundown... More

Friends took us to Overlook Park, which you can find more information about at the Town of Longboat Key's longboat municipalcms dot com web site. Overlook Park has parking for the Quick Point Nature Preserve on Sarasota Bay. The Preserve is profiled at the longboatkey dot org web site. No one else around except one man fishing under the bridge... More

Good views of the Bay. Loved watching the aquatic creatures in the Man Made Lagoon. Nice walk and very interesting. Couldn't help notice that the walking trail was a bit littered. Consider helping a bit and pick up some of it and dispose of it in the trash cans provided.

Really enjoy walking along the boardwalk under the Longboat Key bridge, watching the avid anglers and seeing the abundance of fish! Nice walk further along the beach, peninsula for wonderful views across Sarasota Bay.....look for the jumping fish!

This park is at the southern entrance to Longboat Key and a bit tricky to find. It's an easy walk through a subtropical area at the shore of the bay. Two lagoons are interesting to see. Many birds that the grandchildren enjoyed. There is a fishing pier at the end of the trail. Flat, easy walk with ample areas to... More

Perhaps it's because of the recent storm but the trail has tons of trash all along the nature trail. It distracts from the natural beauty. There were very few water birds that we noticed today. It's a nice nature trail that's easy to walk once you find it. Signage is not where tourists might find it traveling in either direction.

We were challenged to find the place, though eventually did. Signage is not very prominent, or visible. It's a rather short trail, with a few picnic tables and benches, along the way. The path was about 1.25 miles, round trip. We saw a few birds, but not many, at all. We were disappointed to see quite a bit of litter... More

Small well maintained nature preserve. Park across the highway just after you cross the bridge on to Longboat key. Quiet, peaceful walk. Good views of a couple of tidal basins and a nice view across the bay to see Sarasota. Allow about one hour for an easy walk

I was hoping for a larger escape area. This location abuts the high traffic area along Gulf of Mexico drive, with little room for turning around, let alone serenity.
