Hey TJ,
When we went diving, we had to do the cert too which was a little more complicated. But I'll try my best to help you out.
For shore diving, we met up at the shop, snagged the gear and tanks (since we didnt have any of our own) and took two cars to the location. Then we just parked at a nearby spot and hiked it to the water.
I'm always one for renting a car. It would definitely be easier especially if youre planning on diving at several different sites.
You should definitely check with the shop on the tanks. They usually have a bunch of tanks there, but it would be good to call and check just in case they have cert classes and several tours going on at the same time. They are really great about responding to questions online but calling up is always an option too. All the guys that work there are really down to earth and genuinely love diving.
When we dove, we did shore diving and two boat dives. For the boat dive, if you pay for the meetup, they'll give you a boat card thing which allows you access onto the boat without having to pay extra. So when you get to the boat, you just hand them your card and strap your stuff onboard.
But basically yes, you do the meetup thing, show up, and go for a great dive.
I really hope this helps at least a little! Have an awesome dive!!!!
