Good public course

Really good track for the average club golfer. At par 71 there are a number of long holes and every hole has well placed bunkers. Some good water hazards and wildlife too. Only... read more

East Bay is in pretty good shape right now. Nice fairways, an nice greens, make this course fun to play. It wasn't always maintained this good, but they have obviously worked hard to make it better. It's one of my favorites in this area.

The course is level and easy to navigate, but water hazards are ready to gladly accept wayward balls. My colleague and I had planned to play five different courses in six days but our experience on the first day at East Bay was such that we played all five rounds there. Some of the greens were under repair, but that... More

I have been golfing for fifteen years. Mostly in Canada and Florida. I would classify myself as a serious golfer...playing everyday in the early Spring, all through the summer months and most of the Fall...weather permitting. My golfing experiences have been fun but not this one at East Bay Golf Club, Clearwater, Fl. Bottom line: THREE HOURS to play NINE... More

Really good track for the average club golfer. At par 71 there are a number of long holes and every hole has well placed bunkers. Some good water hazards and wildlife too. Only drawback is the greens. They had more sand on them than the bunkers but given the time of year it's understandable that maintaining them is virtually impossible.... More

Until two years ago I played this course regularly while spending Jan-March in Florida. It is an interesting layout with some challenging holes, but I finally stopped playing because--despite management's repeated assurances to the contrary--the greens were always in bad to terrible shape. Friends indicated that this year they were better, so we tried once again and were pleasantly surprised.... More

I liked the layout. The fairways are pretty open with challenging distance for the older but a pleasure to play. Plenty of water and sand to make green approaching fun. The greens were only ok, again it was the winter and we had rain recently. Most greens had several ungulations without being crazy. My wife liked the course, feeling the... More

First time I have been ignored and then passed over in the pro shop. The counter person handled a customer and then ignored me even though I was waiting behind him. He ignored me and jumped out to help three guys that just came in. One of the 3 guys politely asked him why he was not serving me. How... More

East Bay is definitely a course that is non pretensious and good value for money. I played there Monday, 1 Dec 14 and found the course to be in good condition considering the rain of late. My wife and I play off 18 and 14 respectively. We consider ourselves well travelled golfers and have played many a famous course around... More

Played this course today. The best that I can say is that who revere looks after the greens need to have a good long look at themselves. I am a single figure handicap player and have played courses all over the world. The greens today are by a long way the worst that I have ever played on. On top of... More

On a recent vacation to the St. Pete area, we had scheduled 3 rounds of golf that ran the gambit of price ranges. We chose this one as our value course and were not expecting a high end experience, but a playable course. This course was anything but playable. Many greens had significant kill, to the point where three greens... More
