We went to have a night out with friends. The evening started with a skit depicting the assassination of President Trump. They cannot let anyone have an enjoyable night. The facility is old, smells of mildew, and probably violates all ADA rules. My son said...More

I’ve been to the Polk on several occasions. The theater alone is worth the price of admission. It first opened in 1928 and is an atmospheric theater. The interior resembles a Mediterranean courtyard, and the stars in the ceiling sparkle. On this particular occasion we...More

Tonight was our first Polk Theater experience and we loved it. This beautiful vintage theater is pretty magnificent. The detailed theming is such artfully preserved that it makes seeing a movie a special event again. They even have a huge balcony with plenty of seats....More

I visited in February of this year to watch The Disaster Artist. It's really stunning; I love the ceiling. Polk Theater is an atmospheric theater, (which you will learn if you read the screens prior to the showing) so it simulates just that; the ceiling...More

Polk Theater is iconic. Pretty amazing that there’s an organist playing before every show. We heard the entire Sound of Music playbook waiting to see “Oh Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” What a lovely documentary about a man I have little recollection of anything other...More

A friend and I recently visited the Polk Theater. Parking was free and easily accessible behind the building. The doors opened promptly at the correct time. Staff were friendly and helpful. The interior of the theater was very beautiful, reminding me of the Tampa Theatre,...More

I have been to the Polk several times. It is a gem of a small movie palace. It is an atmospheric theater with stars twinkling in the "sky" and the feel that you are sitting in an Italian courtyard. The theater is equipped with a...More

Very nice old theatre. Lots of street parking and a block or do from downtown. They offer a few snacks and beer and wine. Seats seem bigger than most theaters. I don't think the sound system was a bit off.

This dates back to a time when live organ music entertained patrons before the start of the movie. The theater has been restored and has some beautiful features. They show only independent films and are open only on a limited basis. The all volunteer staff...More
