Polk Museum of Art With a diverse exhibition schedule, dynamic event calendar, and comprehensive educational programming, you will find Polk Museum of Art is truly more than an art museum. Don’t let the Polk Museum of Art’s free price tag fool you. Named as one of the Top 10 art museums in Florida and an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution, this Central Florida museum features an extensive permanent collection of contemporary and modern art, as well as an impressive array of Pre-Columbian, Asian, European and American Decorative Arts. Come back each time you visit Central Florida. Around 20 exhibitions rotate throughout its nine galleries each year, and it remains home to rare 19th-century Japanese woodblock prints, as well as ceramic plates made by Pablo Picasso that still bear his masterful tomato-sauce stains. There is even an outdoor garden, which showcases permanent sculptures.

I was in town from Phoenix, AZ for my college reunion, so I came by on a Sunday. Free admission, they accept donations, staff were very cordial and the art on display was for me, very interesting. Worth you time for sure.

This is a lovely small art museum. Although they always have specific exhibits our favorite part of our visit is the art of the local students. There is always an outstanding exhibit of student art. Also their museum shop is the best, bar none.

When we visited the Polk Museum, the main shows in the gallery were not especially interesting to us, so this meant we were not inclined to stay very long. This is not a criticism of the Polk Museum; it just happened that what they were...More

I have been visiting this museum since it was housed in an old supermarket building. It is the place where I discovered Ansel Adams' photos, Rauschenberg's collage paintings and Calder's mobiles. As for size it's small considering the size of some of the exhibits they...More

They have rotating exhibits throughout the year geared to different age levels. We took our grandsons to a skateboard art exhibit. It was fascinating. They have a wonderful museum store as well.
