Hi Mark, I'm the captain. The answer you're fishing for is Yes to some degree. I have an attitude of caring and I take full responsibility for my words and actions. What you see in my review replies is me caring. I have good communication with my customers and provide as much information as I can to ensure my customers can make an educated decision for the best activity for their group. A boat in the ocean is not for everybody. I'm on a boat with strangers under unfamiliar conditions to most of my customers. I have to take exceptional care of my guests because of this reason alone. I have a very short period of time to make my trips successful under any type of condition for a wide variety of activities for every kind of person. Sometimes I get a group not suited to the activity. I understand that. It's my job to make a fun successful trip. I do that well. Not 2 star quality or a 2 star effort. Sometimes some trips don't go well and I make up for it in one way or another. The day I mess up my trip and earn a bad review on here, I will own it. I just won't tolerate a customer that I go the extra mile for, that does not communicate any issue with my fishing style or behavior on my trip go online to hurt me after having a successful fishing trip despite anything. They got a nice price break because they didn't complain on the trip because I felt empathy for them, not for what I did wrong. I work with all of my customers to make sure they walk away happy because this is my business. I know how damaging an online review can be and I take this seriously. It's incredibly frustrating helping people and having them turn around and hurt you. I'm running 200-250 trips a year Mark. Low ball 800 people annually on my medium size boat multiplied by 5 years in business. 1 bad review out of all of those people hurts me significantly on TripAdvisor. That's my horrible reality. That's not attitude. I fight for everything I have earned. And about the Facebook observation, many of my customers "friend" me on Facebook after they go on a trip with me. I also take and post their pictures so it helps in sharing, especially when they send me pics of what they are catching wherever they live. I become friends with my customers from bonds created on 1 trip. I hope this gives you some helpful perspective.

You are more than welcome to invite whomever you wish along, but my trips are private to avoid any possibility of conflicts among my groups. I have all the challenges I can handle day to day making everything work as it does. Expecting 2 groups of people on vacation to show up at the dock on time, prepared, and have the skill level and interests shared is nearly impossible. My trips/rates offer the most bang for the buck and that is the best I can do for my customers. I hope you understand.
