Signed up for the boat to take us out to Pidgeon Key at the Rail Car Welcome Center at Knights Key. We called and got on the list about 3 hrs prior and glad we did. It filled up fast! Quite a story behind the Flagler Railroad told by a local historian. Well worth the 15.00 ticket to see the... More

I was expecting a ferry ride with a short presentation of Pigeon Key...Boy was I wrong! The tour lady- she didn't give us her name- was very knowledgeable about the island, Henry Flagger, and past times on the island. It was fascinating listening to her tell us how the railroad started. I can't believe the homes/bridge are still standing to... More

The tour and boat ride were worth the $12 and some..it was a two hour tour of buildings, the grounds of Pigeon Key and most of all, the history of Henry Flagler. I learned so much about this amazing man and what he accomplished. Karen was our tour guide and you could feel her passion. Highly recommend this tour.

A short boat trip from Marathon key. Great views and a lot of Florida history from the guide. Buy tickets at the gift shop on Marathon Key, just north of the Seven Mile Bridge. Look for a red train car. The boat ride and tour are $12.00.

Tried to take the ferry out to Pigeon Key. The only staff person was very rude. Made me not even want to take the ferry.

Arrive early to the boat dock in Marathon and you may be lucky enough to start your trip up close to a manatee! The ride over and back is the best way to see the 7 mile bridge. We skipped the tour, snorkeled and spent about two hours on the island. We had a great time!

Learned some interesting "keys" history, enjoyed a nice ferry ride, and Pigeon Key is a beautiful spot! Worth the small admission price. Would be a nice family outing. Highly recommend it!

This is a restored encampment for people who worked on the Overseas Railroad. Henry Flagler spearheaded the extension of the Florida East Coast Railway to get people from the mainland to Key West. As you drive through the keys, you can still see the remnants of the structures. Pigeon Key offers some great exhibits of the life and culture of... More
