The Museum is dedicated to collecting, preserving, displaying, and interpreting artifacts, antiques, books, documents, photographs, and oral history relative to the History of Diving. We tell the international story of man's attempts to explore, understand, and venture under the sea. We also celebrate the special role that South Florida and the Florida Keys played in this story. The Florida Keys History of Diving Museum is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational institution focused on the Story of Man's Quest to Explore Under the Sea. The majority of the Museum's artifacts have been provided through the generous support of its founders, Drs. Joe and Sally Bauer, who hold one of the largest collection of historic diving equipment and research documents in the world.

Quite an amazing collection of historic diving items. I am a diving entusiast but i believe This would be fascinating for many people. Takes 1-2 hours depending on how much you read. A must do on a rainy Day. I have never come across anything like it. Very recommendable.

Amazing collection of antiques & artifacts. Great way to spend an hour of your day. Great gift shop for souvenirs. Reasonably priced. Was not crowded for our self guided tour.

This museum is aptly named. It has a very comprehensive collection of diving equipment, especially diving headgear. They are a little light on the treasure hunting that drove diving technology.

We have been recreational diving for thirty years. It was great to have a chance to see the history of diving. This was a real eye opener regarding the changes in commercial diving.

Very extensive collection. Well layyed out so it takes you through sections that pertain to specific facets of diving history, rather than just a large room with things mingled about. Audio, video and even some interactive displays that will even keep youngsters interested. An absolute must for divers, you'll be surprised how much you didn't know!

We stopped in because it was a rainy day and it was definitely worth the time. It is educational for all ages and interesting for divers and non divers.
