Overview
More
The Eco-Discovery Center features more than 6,000 square feet of interactive exhibits, which interpret the resources and management efforts of Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, two national parks, and four national wildlife refuges. Check out the exhibit on Aquarius, the world's only underwater ocean laboratory, the Living Reef exhibit, which includes a 2,500-gallon reef tank with living corals and tropical fish, the live Reef Cam, and other displays that highlight the coral reef environment. The Center is located in NOAA’s Dr. Nancy Foster Florida Keys Environmental Complex on the Truman Annex waterfront in Key West. Admission is always free (and so is parking), so be sure to stop by for a visit!

If you are going snorkeling, diving or doing water sports, this is a great place to start to understand the various aquatic habitats and the challenges to their management. I will use some of the resources and things I learned here in my biology classes...More

Our family enjoyed the movie because it was like you were in the ocean with her. Great staff eager to teach the kids and answered all the parents questions.

This was an informative and interesting place. There is information that is important for all visiting the Keys and swimming on the coral reefs while learning about the environment.

Great small attraction and FREE admission. Located near the cruise ship dock. Kid friendly. We stumbled by this place on accident. It was an entertaining and learning stop plus a great place to beat the July heat.

This is a nice and informative museum. Doesn't have a lot but what they have is excellent. Takes about an hour to see everything, including the movie.

Great kid friendly place in Key West with welcoming and knowledgeable staff. Start here before you explore the island, and you will understand a lot more of the unique ecosystem that you are vacationing in.

A great bargain (free). Very interesting and great for the kids and adults. Not a lot in Key West is free but the Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center is pretty interesting and in walking distance of Duval St.

This museum was free admission, and very well done! Really gives you the full scope of the sea life and nature, the ecology, the history of preserving the sea life and coral reefs. Put this one on your must see places.

This is an educational visitor center for the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. The sanctuary doesn't operate a hotel, but you can come to learn about the marine environment and maritime heritage of the Keys!
