A personal tour by a 25 year retired veteran fireman was most interesting and educational. Exhibits included many hands on items including old hoses, nozzles, firemen clothing, fire engines, etc. Of particular interest was the operations of the old firehouse- the horse and deed stables, the fire alarm systems, communication systems, videos of old KW fires, upstairs sleeping quarters with fire pole,... Fantastic crew of former Key West FD personnel are showcasing the history of the department. They have gone to great lengths to track down equipment, photos, and gear to make this a worthwhile stop. The museum is a converted fire station with photos, apparatus, equipment and other memorabilia that is covered during the tour. Something for everyone here and it... More

Outstanding tour provided by retired KWFD fire chief who is an absolute treasure and very knowledgeable about KW fire history. He clearly enjoys his volunteer job and I'd definitely recommend this tour.

We visited the Firehouse Museum during our visit to Key West. The volunteers were very welcoming and we found it to be a nice way to spend the morning.

We were looking for something different to do while in Key West andstumbled onto this tour. The tour was conducted by a former Fire Chief of the Key West Fire Department and to say the least, he was very knowledgeable about its history. Truly enjoyed the hour long tour.

The old Fire Chief gave us a tour of the museum. It was great hearing from someone that was actually there. A lot of cool little details. Lots of different historical pieces. All three guys that were there were super nice. I would definitely stop and see this if you have the time!

Do once if you have not. Great place to take a photo op but once you have, move on. There are so many things to do, places to see and experiences to have on the island.

These guys are amazing, they took such good care of us and called us family as our dad was a London firefighter years ago. A personal tour but retired firefighters including the former fire chief. If you have any connection to the fire service you will love this. Could sit and chat with the guys, they do such a great... More

As a firefighter from Ohio, I was really interested in stopping by the museum just to look. I was in for a treat, Chief Casto spent 2 hours with us and gave personal history and great stories of the past. What a great preservation of the history of KWFD!!!!
