More local history than the other "tourist attractions" provide. The people who volunteer there are or were firefighters and know the entire history of Key West in great detail. We've been coming to Key West for 5 years and probably learned more history from this...More

I had a great time today with a retired chief. I learned so much about the firehouse and history of Key West. I would definitely go back another time. If you are at all interested in firestations, this is one you should not miss.

The Key West Firehouse Museum is located in one of their old stations and full of historical artifacts, pictures, equipment and topped off by learning about all these things from retired members of the KWFD, some of whom worked at the station. Rich and Alex...More

This small museum, off the "Duval patch", is a simple delight. Retired fireman John walked us through the museum, and his guidance (and great storytelling) was superb. We learned the history of the first firehouse in Key West, established after the "great Key West fire"...More

If you're a fire buff or firefighter this is a pretty cool stop to learn about the history of the fire service in Key West. Some of the "history" is a bit over the top, as told by one of the guides, but it's interesting.

Here's a great way to get off Duval and learn about Old Key West from a local Conch. Retired Chief Castro will keep you entertained with stories of the firehouse and the personalities of long ago. Don't miss this one!

This museum is a collection of many different collections. The Gem is the gentlemen who give the tours. I learned more about key west from these guys than I had in all my visits. One of the tour guides is a retired fire chief.
