The price was not bad at all and the tour guide Stan was excellent and knew his history. We also loved all the 52 kittens and some even had 6 toes! Oh and don't pick them up we learnt that after.

I have been to the Hemingway House on many occasions. I always wondered around on my own. This time I took the guided tour. I quickly learned that on previous visits I missed a lot. Well worth the time.

Really a nice tour and a very interesting place. A must see for all. And wait for the guided tour and don't ramble alone. You'll miss out.

Wife and I have been to Key West four times and always on a day trip but this time we made a point to take time and tour the Hemingway home. We had a fantastic guide, Doug, who took us throughout the house and grounds. He explained the six toe cats that roam the grounds and gave a detail account... More

This home and tour was a great experience. Our guide Chris is the best. His enthusiasm was contagious. I would definitely ask for Chris as a guide. Tells the history of house, Hemingway's years before Key West and after without sugar coating his life. True portrait of an interesting but flawed writer. Fascinating stories and significant Key West home.

This is my second time visiting the Hemingway House and just love the stories about Hemingway and his many wives. The home itself is not over the top mansion-like -- this has more to do with the history. And, it absolutely matters who you have for a tour guide. Try to get on a tour with Chris or Rusty!

Hemingway is synonymous with Key West, so no trip would be complete without a visit here. Even before Hemingway moved into the house, it already had an impressive history. It costs $13 ($6 for children 6-12) to get in, cash only. There are narrated tours approximately every 15-20 minutes. You can also wander around on your own, but I would... More

Thank you very much for your excellent 5-star review! As a Michigander, you may know, Hemingway spent many boy-hood summers vacationing at his parent’s second home at Walloon Lake in your home-state of Michigan. From those summer experiences he gained the inspiration to write the Nick Adams series. It is great to have that Hemingway connection with the great state... More

We found this tour to be a little boring. They do offer a guided tour so it might have been better if we didn't try to do the tour on our own. The cats wandering the property are cute and friendly.

Thank you for writing a review. Sorry you did not to join in on one of our exciting, fact-filled guided tours. The complimentary tours start every 10-15 minutes and last about 30 minutes. After the guided tour many of our guests then take their time to go through the home again and read the abundant amount of information, photograph vintage... More
