Fort Zachary Taylor was a lot of fun to visit. The historians have done a great job to showcase the Fort in its early days as well as show the events of the past and how the Fort and terrain have changed. If you like historical/military sites then this a really cool way to spend a few hours. The site... More

Great place to visit. Beautiful beach, but not the sandy kind. Very sharp shells so bring water shoes! Pack a lunch and picnic in the shade, or better yet bring your own hammock and hang out in the palms. Don't try walking there from the Duval Street area. From the gate it goes back aways and if its hot it... More

I went to Ft. Zachary Taylor during my visit to Key West and loved it! It has one of the only public beaches in Key West. I paid a $2.50 entrance fee and it was totally worth it! The beach has a little cafe where you can order food and drinks, as well as a bathroom, showers and a gift... More

Here is an inexpensive and educational experience for kids and adults. Make sure you take the tour. There is a pamphlet for a self guided tour, but the guide really walks you through a lot of the details and history that you don't get from the written guide.

Great park with a great beach and chair rentals. Food shack that serves delicious sandwiches. It was the meeting place of a kayak challenge for me. We kayaked from Marathon Key down to Key West and ended in Fort Taylor.

A visit to the fort is educational and worth the visit. I was inspired by the story of the Park Ranger that was instrumental in the excavation and in essence salvation of this historic park. Fishing area and Beach are nice as well. Will be much better when construction in the area is completed.

Don't be fooled by all of the construction going on outside of the park. Once you get into the park, the fort is amazing. You can climb on top for some spectacular views. There is also a beach and lots of shoreline to just hangout and soak up the sun.

Not sure if it's worth your time. These forts seem to be all alike. Yes, it's historic. Good for less than an hour, except you still have to pay the admission price.

This state park is a gem - right now undergoing construction, but the beaches are beautiful. There is also a snack bar/changing area. the hammock trail is awesome- my son put his hammock up between two palm trees and spent the morning relaxing. We toured the fort on our own...I would suggest waiting for the guided tour. Pretty spot on... More

This is such a picturesque spot. Good shaded areas around the beach. There are a few hiking/birding trails. Take water shoes with you as the beach is rough in several spots.
