In 2012 the iconic boat the African Queen was restored for her 100 year centennial celebration. In May 2012 she once again began plying the waters of Key Largo and currently offers canal and dinner cruises. We go out daily at 10am, 12am, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm. On Fridays and Saturdays at 6pm we offer a dinner cruise to the Pilot House Marina where passengers disembark and enjoy dinner in the restaurant before boarding the vessel once again to return to the Marina Del Mar. Dinner and lunch cruises are also available on request for groups of at least 4 people.

My son and I had fun on the African queen. Our captain shared the history of the boat and period photos from the filming of the movie. The boat travels at a leisurely pace so we got to appreciate the houses along the canal and scenery. We even got a turn steering.

We were planning our trip down the Florida Keys when I discovered that the African Queen was docked in Key Largo and was available for short cruises in the harbor. Well, with it being a real piece of movie history, we had to do it and we enjoyed it. The captain does a good job of talking about the boat... More

Such a unique opportunity to take a cruise on the real African Queen that was used in the classic movie. This was such a fun cruise! The Captain was very knowledgeable & personable & we just had a delightful time. I would recommend this adventure to everyone & you definitely get your money's worth! THANKS for a truly wonderful afternoon!

Nice canal trip on a 106 year old steam driven boat. You go up one canal to the Atlantic going 3 miles an hour, 35 minutes each way, and return. I enjoyed it but thought it was too pricey for what you got. $50. Per person

A slow paced ride through the canals with Captain Mike at the helm will bring images of Katherine Hepburn & Humphrey Bogart to mind. You will hear the same clang of the steam engine that you heard in the movie...it is the original African Queen after all... It was an enjoyable and relaxing ride.

So much fun...traveling on the actual African Queen that Bogart and Hepburn made famous! We enjoyed sailing thru the Canal with Captain John and into the ATLANTIC OCEAN. We took the evening sail and had a nice dinner before our return. The Stewarts from Minnesota

We chose to go on the African Queen dinner cruise for my mom's birthday. We had a wonderful time aboard this amazing vessel. The historical information and photos were fantastic. Ship's captain was interesting and humorous with a good backlog of historical information. Ship was rustic, of course, and didn't fit in with its modern surroundings. You definitely had the feel of an old-time engine that required a good deal of hands-on attention to make it work right. Trip was fine going through the canals but was just a little... More
