Amelia Island State Park/Nassau Sound is like no other beach in the Jacksonville area. The drive to the beach is like taking a back road home; peaceful, beautiful, easy. You can drive on the beach (seriously- 4x4s only, you will get stuck in the soft sand if you do not have 4wd), or you can park in the parking lot... More

We had a truly great time cruising through Amelia Island State Park. The beach is really beautiful, and you can drive on it, which was a fun experience! Across the way is "Boneyard Beach" which is also a really cool place to visit.

A very nice oceanfront park. It is a state park, so there's a charge, but it's a nicely kept area, and so scenic.

Big Talbot Island... find the parking area off the roadway and hike by the signs to the beach... DO NOT GO WITHOUT A CAMERA... The driftwood beach is gorgeous. You may need an extra memory card for this awesome site

We came here for a couple hours of fun during a sunny winter. The place is beautiful with clean white sand (next to the waterline at least). Entrance cost money and there is plenty of parking. This place could be a jewel but several things must improve first: (1) There is one porta-potty at the entrance and it is filthy... More

A long 3 mile drive into the campground. Plentiful wildlife. Beautiful sunset view. Armadillo everywhere. Great for riding bicycles. I noticed a mountain biking trail which looks awesome.

This a beautiful beach with everything you could ask for. Thay have Horseback Riding, Fishing and you can even ride your ATV on the Beach. The locals are friendly and helpful. The best thing about it also besides the beauty is that it is free. So come out and enjoy you wont regret it

Horseback riding tours are offered four times a day along the beach. The guided walk is below the high tide mark so the ocean washes away any droppings. The rides are on American quarter horses. The park has a campsite, no restaurants. The staff is knowledgeable and the park is well maintained.

I was really excited to go to Amelia Island state park as it was recommend by a coworker. I've been living in Jacksonville for 7 months and wanted to explore its surrounding beaches and state parks. Anyway, the drive was great through the scenic view of A1A. But honestly when we got there it was almost impossible to walk thru... More

Don't go to this park unless you are driving in a 4WD vehicle and want to drive on very loose sand. We did not leave the parking lot as we watched a jeep try to get out of the sand while trying to pull out another vehicle. No fun!
