My daughter and I spent two hours at this small wildlife sanctuary. We arrived just in time for the afternoon Wildlife Encounter program. The two staff members showing the animals did a great job explaining what makes each one unique and why they are important to our Florida ecosystem. Although the animals cannot be touched as that is disturbing to them, the handler did hold them up for photo ops. The goal of the sanctuary is to rehabilitate and release every animal brought to them for treatment (over 6000 per year!). Some animals cannot be released into the wild for various reasons and those are the "permanent residents" you'll see in the pens. There is a variety of birds, snakes, bears, a panther, deer, etc. If you enjoy learning about animals and supporting an organization working to help them as well as educate people, then definitely stop by!

We really enjoyed our visit here. My 2 year old had a blast and was ooh’ing and ahhh’ing at everything. The staff was very nice and they were open to answering any questions. I’d probably go back if I’m in the area again.

This attraction is a very nice stop for a family with young children and a nice way to spend an hour or two for couples who are staying nearby and don’t need another afternoon at the beach. I think that the zoo aspect of the sanctuary is what most people are exposed to and I wish it would be possible to see more of the work being done to save abandoned and injured animals. The volunteers are all wonderful people and believe in what they are doing to help. perhaps when the move to new quarters in a year or two we will see a more complete picture of the work being done.

No charge to get in but across donations. Go through the discovery zone first so you can get back ground in the animals. Specially Freddy the alligator

It's only took us a little over an hour with a child in a wheelchair. Good place for a quick trip.

Believe there are picnic tables for family use and restrooms that are very clean.

Great to see the work being done to rehabilitate so many animals in distress. Set in a rustic way with shady trails and lots of native flora. The sanctuary operates on donations and does not charge for admission. Visit and help them continue their mission.

We visited here and it was a very informative place to see all the good work they do in saving wildlife that were either injured or abandoned or in need of help in any way. The place was clean, the animals appeared to be well taken care of, their accommodations were large and the place was clean.
