Interesting and enjoyable CREW Land and Water Trust trails.
Dec. 2019
CREW does excellent job maintaining some beautiful Floridian ecosystems and preserving beautiful nature. The trails allow for close contact with both lush flora and amazing fauna of swamps and marshes. Great area for bird watching.

Great trails

This is an excellent site with great trails. The trails are well marked and easy to walk. There are also boardwalks and an observation tower. There are interesting habitats and plenty of opportunities for watching wildlife. There is a car park at entrance

Nice trails
Apr. 2017 • Friends
I took the 2 mile hike at CREW Marsh trails on Saturday 4/8/17 with a group of local people. We had a guide tour. It was very interesting to learn about the preservation trust that the land is held in and the management that happens there. We saw a lot of wild flowers and orchids. Deer and alligators too. It is free to public and you can bring your pets to walk

Unexpected variety of animals

My wife picks on me because I've been to lots of swamps with wooden walkways through them. In fairness, when you live in Florida, you run into a swamp five miles in any direction and if it doesn't have a wooden walkway through it, I'm turning around. So, I guess where I was going with this is that I expected this swamp with a wooden walkway through it to be like the others, but nope, I was wrong. We saw an amazing array of birds, alligators, raccoons and otters. We watched the otters fishing for at least an hour and inadvertantly got exercise by walking through the swamp. It's worth a drive, just bring bug spray.

Peaceful, relaxing, numerous benches for watching and resting. A lot of egrets, alligators and a nice Audabon store

Great wild space but some maintenance needed on boardwalk
Sep. 2016 • Solo
Hiked here recently and it was a great wild space. Saw a snake on the trail and many birds including an eagle. However the alternate Marsh part of the trail loop was all underwater, and unlike other wet hikes I have done the dense reeds made visibility difficult and the whole slog a bit nerve wracking. The scenery on the raised walk was gorgeous but several down trees looked precarious and the rotting vegetation made the footing slippery. I am grateful this is open to the public - so much to see!

Plan on getting wet
Jan. 2016 • Couples
About five miles out of Immokalee is a very well maintained park just perfect for a couple hour stroll. My suggestion is to wear water socks our sandals that you won't mind getting wet. Not sure if it's this time of the year or just unusual weather conditions, but we were up to our knees in the marsh part of the hike. We just took off our shoes and socks and went for it, but I think I would have felt better with some sort of foot protection. The trail is very wide and easy to navigate. Maps are in a weatherproof box at the trailhead. Recommended contribution is $3 and there is a box for that. This is a little gem.

Florida Wilderness At Its Best
Jan. 2016 • Couples
We went to Corkscrew earlier in the week and only saw a few different birds.Wanted to try something that was the wilderness of Florida. This was it.Saw countless number of birds and three alligators. One 7 ft alligator was lying in the middle of the path and we had to walk around it.A little nerve wracking. This is a place that I would recommend and a place that We will return to.Very easy walking trails. All this for free.May want to bring plastic grocery bags to tie on car mirrors to scare off vultures that seem to hang around the parking lot.

Cypress Dome Hike with addition of Caracara Preserve: Marvelous!
Jan. 2016 • Family
This hike was a bit wet - about 45 feet of the Wild Coffee Trail was under about 2 foot of water. We removed our shoes and just went for it! We are adventurous!
We added onto this hike the Caracara Preserve. Again, the marsh was water (the trail signed warned us!) for about 100 feet or more. Again, shoes off!
The trails are very well marked. In Caracara Reserve, there were metal maps at every juncture. Difficult to get lost!
Last year I did these trails and there was very little water on the trails.
