Shamefully, us locals don’t often get out in our own backyard to enjoy history and the beauty Jonathon Dickinson State Park offer. The boat tour took us up the Loxahatchee to Trapper Nelson’s. The captain kept us well entertained with the sites along the river....More

We visit in our motorhome twice a year. Large campsites not on top of each other. Clean restrooms. Great bicycle trails. Water activities, horseback trail rides, interpretive boat ride, kayak rentals, really great friendly staff of Park Rangers.

I couldn't be happier with our stay. The campsites are spacious and very well maintained. There are also many activities for families. Friendly staff! The price per night is also below $30.

This is a large and beautiful park. It's located between Stuart and Tequesta on U.S. 1. We have a state park pass, so entrance is free, but there are different fee levels depending on daily use, overnight camping, etc. But its worth every penny! This...More

Went mountain biking and had a great time. The bike trails are well maintained and a challenge for any skill level. Park staff very professional and friendly. A beautiful Florida State Park.

If the river is high, the staff will not say anything until you are on the boat. Then after enduring a nature tour of the river with a malfunctioning speaker system, we were told the dock was under water and we could not see the...More

This is our third stay at Jonathan Dickinson State Park. The camping area is well-maintained, and has had mostly RV campers when we have been here. We are tent campers. Our sites have had water, sewer, electric, clothesline poles, picnic table, fire ring and separate...More

So disappointed this camping trip....the 2nd of 2 nights was bad....quiet hours are supposed to be 11:00 P.M. The group next to us(sites are close together)partied -loudly-until almost 2:00 a.m. No ranger/staff patrolling. We certainly didn't want a confrontation, especially if those people are that...More

The kayaking here used to be phenomenal, however they have taken away the beautiful shaded kayak experience. Now you can paddle around for a while in the hot sun, and it's OK if you don't mind the heat, but it's nothing like how it used...More

The bike paths are both paved and hard packed sand/shell/soil. Street bikes are just fine throughout the park.

That is a tough question...the sites up front have ZERO shade. The sites down near the river have some incidental shade, but they are very close together and thus there aren't any big trees between the sites. The scrub... More

All of the above answers are correct. However, swimming is never a good idea at Jonathan Dickinson State Park. They do have canoeing and a boat trip that are good and lots of bike trails. Hobe Sound beach is the closest... More
