I was part of a touring team and was shown around the University more for tourist purposes rather than as a prospective student. It is rather a large and diverse university.

A great place to walk, run or jog if you are in the area. The campus is definitely old Florida and complete with brick buildings, oak trees and hanging moss. Beware of the Gators!

Spent some time in Gainesville with Gators. If would be student, would love to spend here college years. :)

Visited many SEC stadiums and nothing special about the swamp. This stadium and campus has nothing on T-Town. RTR!!!

Visit when the campus is closed. Especially the buildings off of University Avenue, delightful architecture. A wonderful walking venue, UF is a green campus, lots of plants and trees from the University Ave access points. Get a campus map, otherwise easy to get turned around...More

We visited on a Tuesday afternoon, as I wanted to visit this unique educational center. We arrived late in the afternoon, so some of the museums were closed, but I was able to see the Gators Athletic main buildings and fields. Need to return with...More

When planning a trip to UF (University of Florida) I recommend that you go on the day of an event, or make reservations for the things you would like to do there. There are not many buildings that you are allowed to enter during certain...More

Highly recommend the UF Bookstore for Gator Gear. They have everything clothing wise you could want and especially items that are sport specific. We were even given a 30% off coupon. Workers were extremely helpful in finding specific items.

As a student I found UF to be over-rated, poor teaching and impersonal. As for the athletics, these days their crowds are all just a bunch of retired people that have moved to the area--few hot babes. If you find that interesting, this is the...More

I absolutely loved my four years at UF. A great place to take your studies seriously, but also to unwind. It's great to be a Florida Gator!

I do not know of a shuttle. Please be aware that Orlando is two hours away so don't take a taxi as it would be very expensive!

The University will give out visitor parking passes which allows you to park in the parking lots and the garages. This is not an option on game days however. UF is a non motorized campus so no cars directly on the campus.
