We decided to stop by the Florida Natural History Museum on a recent visit to Gainesville. The butterfly rainforest was amazing and we had a good time inside the butterfly enclosure & watching them release new butterflies.

Very fun to do with kids, seeing all the butterflies right in front of your nose is astounding. The research and science is interesting as well, but the direct experience is really touching.

Stirred by the sun, butterflies danced around us, and even landed on us, showing their many and varied colours. Not your usual humid sanctuary, this feels like the wild but without the dangers. A must-do in Gainesville.
