After 3 yrs. of driving past and saying I should stop to see it someday, I finally did and am I ever mad at myself for waiting so long because it's absolutely a treasure trove of interesting things to see and read. I can't imagine any age that wouldn't find it enjoyable because it covers almost all aspects of life... More

This wonderful little museum is tucked away behind the Fort Pierce Aquarium on Seaway Drive, and is well worth the effort to locate it. Fully staffed by volunteers who are well-informed and happy to share their knowledge of the history of the area, it does a wonderful job of presenting life in Florida through the ages. I was especially taken... More

The museum covered a much great range of topics than we had expected. It began with pre-Columbian Indian civilizations and went through to the near present. The audio phone explanations that came with admission were very good, although sometimes more than I wanted to hear. Overall, it was well worth the admission and time spent.

Enter the many eras of "Old Florida" at this local Museum for a return to the past. What was it like to live as a Seminole Native American? How were the Florida homes built to withstand the weather? Where did they find the Spanish treasures? Find the answers to those questions and more here!!!

This is an outstanding museum that is very well organized with very informative signage. I was truly amazed at the diversity of the artifacts in this small museum. I also want to point out something that I normally wouldn't even notice and that is plenty of benches and chairs to sit on in the museum. I was having horrible back... More

The history center is about 100 yards from the aquarium so if you have difficulty walking that distance I suggest you drive there. The history center looks small but houses a significant number of artifacts, displays, tools, and equipment from by-gone eras. Some of the dioramas are very well done. A docent will provide a electronic teaching aid, but it... More

This museum really gives you a sense of the past. All children in St Lucie County should have to visit. The house tour and garden area are also very well done.

I have driven past this history center hundreds of times without stopping because it didn't look like much from the outside. How wrong I was. The history center packs a tremendous amount of information into a compact area. Anyone interested in the history of St. Lucie County or the early inhabitants of the area should spend some time here. It... More
