We camped with a 26' travel trailer. The sites were level and most backed right up to a small stream that was always alive with new animals--birds, fish, turtles, and even a couple small alligators. Sites had full hookup. Bathroom was old and definitely a state park bathroom, but it was clean every day. The playground was new and well... More

After problems at another campground in the area stumbled upon this gem. The people in the office couldnt have been nicer. The campground itself is very nice roomy and clean restrooms and showers. Will definitely be back.

We stumbled on this value priced campsite ($10) that had showers and laundry so we decided to give it a shot. We came after-hours and had the ranger meet us at the gate. Wayne was an absolutely amazing host that made us feel completely at home and welcome in his park. I would enter the site after 5pm just so... More

The area is home to a small campground. Day visits are welcome and they even rent kayaks and canoes. I walked the newest trail. It is an in and out, about a mile each way. Encountered many birds and an alligator. Will be returning often.

This was a last minute stop and we were very pleased. There was just one other camper on our loop, so it was very peaceful. We were on site 12. Picnic table is behind the RV, would like it next to the camper, however guess it is so you can look at the water. There is a train that goes... More

We had booked a camping trip to the west coast of Florida, but Hermine put it under water! So in a pinch for Labor Day weekend, we ended up Savannah Rec Area. Great wild life, dog friendly and affordable. Tammi and the staff in the office could not have been more accommodating! BUT, the facilities were filthy! And the grass... More

My wife and I stayed at Savannas one week in 2015, and then, for two weeks in 2016. Both stays were very nice. The campground is clean and well groomed. We enjoy the wildlife, alligators, sandhill cranes and turtles, etc. We saw two alligators, one was approximately four feet in length, the other was approximately six feet in length. The... More

I recently learned there is a mile and a half paved trail at the end of this park and have been using it for a morning run. It is so pretty in there and a great change of pace from my neighborhood. The trail leaves from the dog park area. If you want a couple more miles, park at the... More
