It is a little JEWEL in the heart of Fort Myers Beach. The trails are well marked and maintained. The view on the back bay is beautiful and relaxing. There are guided tours you can take and also an information office that is open a couple of mornings a week that you can learn about the history of Fort Myers... More

We stayed at Fort Myers on the beach and were surprised that this was yet another beautiful place to spend a few hours.

Took a nice walk for about a half hour to 45 minutes in the Preserve. Lots of birds chirping, but we couldn't easily find them. The walk along the path provided leads to the water. Interesting root systems around the base of the trees there - probably because it is a tidally influenced area and what we were seeing was... More

We stopped in and took a picture of the map and started walking. About half way through there were water holes and we had to turn around..

Just off Estero Bl. In Ft. Myers Beach is a hidden jewel (Matanzas Pass Preserve). There are 2 interconnected paths totaling just under 2 miles. They wind through the mangroves and 1 leads to a GR8 view of Estero bay. The pass is free.

Nice and peaceful walk through the mangroves and native oak trees. Did not see much wild life, but a good nature experience.

So relaxing and right down the block from Mango Street Inn! And it felt as if we were transported right into Zen-dom! We saw dolphins and I THINK I saw an eagle!

The bay was beautiful. We didn't see much wildlife, and the wooded areas looked under kept. There wasn't any water on the trail at the time, so it just looked muddy and there were a lot of bugs. We spent a lot of time on the bay. It wasn't crowded and was free to the public. The history center was... More

We have been visiting Matanzas for many years and have never been disappointed with the food or the service. A good menu with an outside terrace with views over the water. Always well worth a visit
