My family and I came here when we were visiting the area. This is a truly lovely preserve to come to for about an hour or so. If you're just walking it, you don't need more than an hour, but you could easily spend half...More

This is my third trip to the slough and I have not been disappointed yet. So much nature and wildlife to see and it is abundant. We have seen gators close-up all three trips. Birds galore and informative boards along the way to tell you...More

Boys had an excellent time following the tracks, reading the clues and discovering the answers. The alligator paid a visit as did a very large turtle while we treked around the large pond before walking deeper into park. Definitely worth the effort ... lots of...More

Are there places to rest and/or sit on the way? My Mom needs to rest every now and then.

Every so often there is some place to sit, but are few and far between. There are some shorter trails.
Is it possible to borrow a wheelchair for a couple hours for my husband who walks with a cane, but with difficulty? We plan to visit January 24. We'd love to do the 1:30 guided nature walk, but I'd be afraid he couldn't keep up with the walking.
