With a wide variety of restaurants and shops, along streets which have been brought back to their original beauty, this is always a fun place to go. Special events practically clog the calendar, with something entertaining happening practically all the time. And then there's the waterfront!

I loved the metal sculptures throughout the city, they are cleverly designed. The walk around the river is just beautiful. We happened to walk through on a Thursday and it was the day for the farmer's market to be there. We ate crepes and bought some homemade guacamole to snack on later. It was fun walking through the city just... More

Visited the Fort Myers River District on Saturday, 14 January 2017 while I attended the 2017 Fort Myers Bike Weekend. The newly renovated boat docks and surrounding areas was a sight for sore eyes and my family and I enjoyed every minute touring the River District. It is a must see and I am for sure that you would love... More

Visiting family at Christmas time. Saw a lot of the metal sculptures all around town. The marina area was nice. A road was closed off due to a construction site but that actually made the walk more enjoyable. There were some coconut trees loaded. A lot to see and do.

This is an excellent area to shop and dine in the many quirky boutiques and cafes. The road itself has been sympathetically narrowed but it is difficult to understand why it has not been fully pedestrianised. You can see the difference if you are fortunate to be there for the Art Walk held the first Friday of every month from... More

Do the roundtrip of First street, pier, marina and walk along the water edge into under bridge. Particularly at sunset time. It was all you I could expect from a town walk. Neat and clean, feels safe and sort of pleasantly new-unworn :)

The Fort Myers River District has been "spiffed" up but still has a bit of construction. The river front is pretty, the fountains are nice, the landscaping is good. There are lots of restaurants and bars in the area. A nice place for a weekend afternoon.

We were pleasantly surprised with the FM downtown area. We went for an after dinner stroll & the area was buzzing. Lots of people walking around, eating in the hip cafes, browsing the quaint stores. Lots of the highly rated restaurants like Ford's & Capone's coal fired pizza are here. Nice place to get an after dinner drink or ice... More
