Visitors to downtown Ft. Myers can take a leisurely walk by the river on the comparatively new River Walk. See the Yachts and boats--learn the difference, let your kids run nearby while you walk. It is an open and safe place to walk in the sun, shielded by the famous MacGregor Palms and smell of the river and the salt... More

Good restaurants and bars for all ages. Also a few nightclubs around for those that like to party hard.

I always take out-of-town visitors to the River district. Whether you like to stroll and check out the scenery, people watch, or shop, or eat, there is plenty to see and do. It is especially fun when there is a special activity going on in the park. Parking is usually easy to find.

Enjoyed a great ice cream at Scoop on First , sat and watched the other tourists wander by. No trouble finding a parking spot on the street.

We just spent a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon in the historic River District. We loved the old restored houses, the restaurants and little shops. We had drinks in a sidewalk restaurant. So much character in this part of town especially in First Street. We will be back here on our next trip.
