If the weather is 80 degrees for a few days in the winter it is hard to spot a manatee.

We never attended this one before so gave it a try. Parking is tough on a weekend so be aware of that. The manatees are definitely present here in the winter. Most have the propeller scars which is so unfortunate but typical. It's a nice area overall but the biggest negative for us was the water clarity. Clear spring waters... More

Went to Manatee Park Saturday, Jan 21,2016. Weather had been 80 for several days. We saw some movement that was probably a manatee rising up for air but didn't see one in the inlet where there are usually 20 @ this time of year. The Kayakers definitely saw one as they exclaimed. Loved the walk along the butterfly gardens and... More

We did as recommended and went on an evening that was a bit cool. 60's. We saw LOTS of manatee. It was awesome. Young manatees playing with each other, adults and young alike surfacing for air and coming up close for some nice views. A must do for a quiet cool sunset.

Manatee Park is a great place to view the manatees! Go when you see a sudden drop in outside temperatures. You have to pay for parking but it is worth going to. There is a visitor center with bathroom facilities and information about the park. Besides viewing manatees you can take hike and even kayak.

OMG tons of manatee. Babies are so cute. The water is shallow enough that you can really see them. If you are lucky you can hear them also in the manny tube.

Although a bit hard to find as the sign is well back of the road this is a must see when visiting the Fort Myers area. The staff are friendly and helpful, there are video's and plaques that clearly explain things. For the little more adventurers the rental of a kayak or canoe will greatly add to the experience as... Completely enjoyed my time there. Visitor Center volunteer staff was helpful and friendly. Due to recent cold weather, I was told there were around 150 manatees in the area. $2/hr or $5/day parking. Paths were both paved or shell covered and passed a canal with warm water discharge from the local power plant. Many manatee visible in this area. I... More

Parking is charged $2 per hour. There is a nice little gift shop with a sitting area behind it that has a video about the Manatee's running on a loop. There are several cute statues to take photos with if you have kids. There were a lot of Manatees floating in the water just a short walk from the park.... More

Once you get past parking machines it is a fun place. We paddled around with the Manatees. Worth the visit. My 8 year old grand daughter thought it was fun. And I a 70 year old grandfather thought it really fun to do too.

Great place to go to watch these beautiful creatures. Go when the whether is cool. The manatees can be warm and cozy in the warm water in the backwater of the power plant. When we were there we saw dozens. You'll love it! The best place to view the manatees!
