Took the water taxi all day to Las Olas . It was too hot to walk about but the little we did was very enjoyable. great shops, restaurants and galleries. Took the Water Taxi back to first station near Pompano.

One issue was the Wifi in my room. Wifi would not connect in a timely manner. At times it took 2 hours at night to connect on my Android phone. And it would not stay connected. I logged on to my computer early Thursday morning (1/11) and connected immediately. When it became later in the morning it appeared others were logging on to Wifi and I was disconnected. I could not reconnect. I spoke to the Front Desk Manager, Nicolas, when I checked out. He stated he was going to submit a ticket to be reviewed. He was courteous and took care of a room charge. It was appreciated.

    Interesting, walkable city
Walking the stretch of las olas Blvd was the highlight of our brief visit. The farmers market was wonderful - the fruits were varied and amazing and the vendors were accommodating. The most interesting part was the art museum of the NSU. The museum is small but had a great collection of abstract art. The Color exhibit was very informative and interesting, thanks to the 2 pm public tour on the Sunday when we happened to visit. The young guide who was a staff member was very engaging and knowledgeable.

    Familiar is good
Cheesecake Factory always dependable. There was no line no waiting. Immediate seating. Friendly staff. We ordered one salad and two appetizers and it took some time to get our food (about 20 minutes) but it was good. Indoor and outdoor seating. Music was nice — not to loud (Goldilocks would have been pleased). As usual, helping are large.

    Nice, Walkable, and Pretty
This is a beautiful, walkable area along a canal-type waterway, they call a river. Boats, etc float in it. There are many large buildings/mixed-use along it, as well and lots of shops and restaurants. It lights up beautifully at night and is all walkable. While this area might have a lot of homeless and not be very appealing, the nights we were out on this walk, it was nice and we didn’t see much vagrancy. It can be touristy, but it’s worth visiting.

    Plenty of choices
You can come here to shop. You can come here to drink. You can come here to eat. You can come here to find museums and art galleries. You can wander just off the street to do the Riverwalk. You have many choices when you come to Las Olas Boulevard.

Great area for shopping next to city centre
I entered Los Olas from the City side having just alighted the water taxi. I was very impressed with the choice of local shopping and restaurants (and The Cheesecake Factory which is my favourite chain restaurant in US). I took a very pleasant walk down the main shopping area.

    Still Nice
Las Olas Blvd is one of the nicest areas in Ft. Lauderdale. We lived in the area for over 20 years. I am so glad it has retained its charm. Nice shops, art galleries, and restaurants. It is a great place to walk around and still pretty safe, albeit we did see some homeless people.

Stop by the Gelato shop for a cool tasty treat while strolling in between the beautiful people.
By the way the # 11 City Bus takes you all the way to the beach on las Olas if you need a cheap and easy way to get there. Can also ride it back towards downtown on las Olas. I rode it several times, plus it’s free till June 1st!

Fun area to walk around, especially if you're in the mood for a sidewalk cafe or bakery. We didn't see much we'd actually buy on the street, except for the restaurant food. Ate at Louie Bossie's italian restaurant and had awesome pizza. The are is good for an hour or two diversion if you're in Ft. Lauderdale. There are public parking lots behind some of the buildings, $3 the first hour, and $1.50 for subsequent hours. You have to use the pay machine to print a ticket to put on your dashboard. Take a picture of your license plate before you go to the machine, because you'll have to enter it into the pay lot machine.

We were lucky, and unlucky. We were able to be there to experience the amazing art exhibits lining the insides of the streets. That was spectacular. Unfortunately, this caused pretty big problem with parking and trying to make our way through the crowds. It was still an amazing experience and I would definitely want to check out the street at a time when there was not something “extra“ going on. The little Italian coffee shops and the candy stores and ice cream stores were fun.

My wife and I were staying at the Hampton Inn close by and arrived here with a hotel shuttle in the afternoon and then again in the evening at 7PM for dinner. Very pretty and clean. Very busy and a young crowd loud happening in the evening. Traffic, shops...watch you step walking and so on. Since we have now been there the area might work again but for sure not at the same hotel. Love the many American Flags on display along the Boulevard on both sides....KAG.

I would avoid this busy street on the weekends if you are concerned about Covid. Yesterday mid-afternoon the restaurants were hopping, and I was surprised to see that the outdoor tables in virtually all the six blocks I strolled were packed together as usual with no evidence of social distancing. In some cafes, 8 or so people were packed into outdoor booths that were jammed next to each other. I felt sorry for the servers and other restaurant employees who were all properly masked. The viral load looked enormous even outdoors. Perhaps off this busy boulevard restaurants are providing space between tables.

Lots of small shops and very nice restaurants, Wild Sea is great place. Enjoyed window shopping and people watching and for me car watching as liable to see anything parked or driving by. Street parking is available at $1.75 hour

Lots of restaurants and shops to explore. There’s got to be something for everyone. It’s set up very cute with all the lights on the palm trees once it gets dark. It reminded me of fourth Street in Naples. We enjoyed walking up and down the street, and we felt safe. Make sure you pay to park at the meters because they do have meter readers walking up and down the street checking license plates.

You visit and have gone to the Beach area.... well...Las Olas Blvd is the classy part of Lauderdale unless you walk into one of the high end hotels near the water. Lots of great eating spots.

A nice place to set down is Asia Bay with a nice deck on a canal. Big City will give you more of a local feel with some pretty nice upscale but not pretentious food. YOLO will give you your Miami Vice experience. Go there and you will get what I mean..... South Florida to visitors. That just a sample.

Has turned less shopping (even if some still there) and more eating in recent years, but isn't that every downtown area?

I have a better understanding why FL has a huge COVID 19 problem.

Las Olas Blvd contains a lot of restaurant and shopping stores that cater to tourist. It was obvious several (if not all) restaurants DID NOT practice COVID 19 restrictions as many, many, many restaurants were fully booked. It was also obvious several (if not all) did not limit occupancy rates to help minimize the spread. Las Olas is definitely a super spreader location...once we observed this, we left immediately and didn't return.

If you like to shop to you drop try to visit Las Olas Boulevard for a day of a great shopping experience. There are lots of eclectic shops and very nice restaurants in this area. Many of the pay parking lots are located behind the stores if you plan on driving to this area.
