The woman who was on duty was a font of information. She clearly enjoyed her job and I watched her work with several families, giving them detailed information on various attractions. Very friendly, very helpful.

The last time we were there, the Welcome Center was being renovated. Those are complete and the Center, which is near the railroad tracks, looks like an old-fashioned station, and the information within is great. Stop by.

This is where your journey starts. Find out what is happening, where the pirates stayed, and which store has what you are looking for. Maps, literature, and friendly advice become your starting point.

We stopped in for brochures and info about the island. Pam was wonderful. Very accommodating and informative considering it was five minutes to close. The other lady wanted to be sweet, but it was obvious she wanted to so home. We grabbed all sorts of...More

From their website: "The Welcome Center is open 364 days a year, 9 to 5 on weekdays and 10 to 4 on weekends." The phone is 904-277-0717. Have fun.

One of the tours we liked a lot was a sunset BYOB cruise. We were lucky enough to see the horse on Cumberland island. We got the tour right on the dock.
