Visited the museum with friends, one an avid angler. Museum is small, but full of specimans caught in the area. Beautiful fish!! Lots of interesting items. Museum docent very informative, gave us brief history of the island, explained the topography of the area and why fishing became so important, explained why the sugar sand is so fine and white. This small museum is about the history of Destin and the history of the fishing that made Destin. This is a must visit. The ladies that tell you about the history of the fishing are amazing. They told us about how Destin started, about the exhibits of the fishing boats and fish, and about the fishing Rodeo in October. WOW... More

We visited here for the first time after living in the area for 10 years. I found it to be very interesting with many great exhibits and some very big fish. Admission is 4 or 5 dollars.

Go with your thinking cap on. So much to learn, and the staff is incredibly knowledged of local history. Loved it. Small and quaint. And, the walk through the old Post Office was charming.

If you are into history, or learning, or just want to see some big fish and cool old pics, this is the place to go! I have been there a few times. I love the fish mounts and seeing the old photos of Destin before she was famous. They give you great information, and tell you all about the area.... More

This is a wonderful little museum that all tourists should visit. Learn a little about Destin's short but rich history! Locals take pride in preserving an amazing past. Take time to talk to the locals that volunteer.

The owner is very nice and knowledgeable and takes the time to explain all of the historic pieces in the museum. It's a quaint little place but it's loaded with history and awesome information for the little ones has a nice gift shop as well.

Destin museum is a quaint little museum with lots of Destin history. It's small and you'll surely not spend a day there but it's super informative if you're interested in fishing or Destin.

This was one of the stops on our Segway tour. Unfortunately, part of it was closed for the day due to a large school group, but we still got to see the outdoor exhibits. In October, the museum celebrated it's 11th Anniversary.
