Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a great tour! Jill is an experienced guide and offers a wealth of knowledge on the local cuisines in Footscray. She even meets you at the station already with Banh Mi, very prepared and made it a great day/afternoon. Many thanks Jill:)

Great fun time with an enthusiastic teacher as we learned new preparation techniques whilst preparing curries from a variety of countries. Small class size gave an excellent opportunity to be fully involved in the preparation of our delicious meal.

Patrick ran the Thai Street Food class really well, always helpful and friendly, and keeping everything on track. The passion for food really shines through - and he knows his stuff. It was great to not only learn about the dishes but to pick up general cooking tips too, like how to dice shallots or crush garlic without a crusher. Jill provided great support in the background. The Thai class was great value, we cooked so many meals! Our entree included a soup, pad Thai and Thai fish cakes. The mains included a beef and basil stir fry, seafood green curry, Larb salad and rice. And then there was a dessert to follow - come hungry! Everyone was really impressed with the authentic flavours of the dishes, keen to try at home! Thanks guys for a great day.

I have done several classes at Spice Bazaar and can't recommend them enough. The moment you step inside you get to experience all the amazing aromas of the freshly packaged spices and are made to feel very welcome by the amazing hosts. The classes offer great value, are well run, entertaining, informative, and social. It is a great experience to share with friends but you will have a great time even if you go by yourself. The food you cook is amazing and can be replicated at home. Definitely a must do!

A group of four Kiwis went to the Greek cooking class run by Pat and Jill not really knowing what to expect. It was fantastic. So much fun with a bit of cooking thrown in. Would thoroughly recommend. We will be back when we come back to this great city

Fantastic 4 hours walking the streets of Footscray Melb tasting food delights from many ethnic cultures. Jill's knowledge of the area/history/people/food and her charm had all 10 of us captivated. Tasty food from Italy, Vietnam, Ethiopia and some seafood from Australia - plus a birthday cake celebration. Jill runs an awesome tour well worth the $$$spent. This is a must do for locals and tourists alike

Patrick and Jill really know there food and wine . We spent a full day chopping, cooking, blending and learning about beautiful Balinese cuisine . But the added bonus was the wine matching with ra h dish . Personally chose by Patrick we were spoilt with red and white wines from King Valley Estate which complimented each dish perfectly .
I highly recommend not to drive when you come to one of there cooking days so you can fully indulge and make sure you come hungry because you will certainly leave full.
We will be back to do more of your fun, filling courses .

Thanks for your comments. It was a particularly fun session with the special wine match emphasis. Balinese food really is one of our favourite cuisines. So glad you enjoyed it.

Being a 60 year old westie I thought knew Footscray but this tour thought my wife & I so much more. Jill takes you on a walking tour talking food, culture & history of the west. You stop at 3 eateries for a lovely feast of their cultural food & share stories. A fantastic gift to give any food lover. PS don’t eat breakfast before going, you get offered heaps of food. Well worth doing, thanks Jill.

Thanks for your positive comments. Footscray really is a great place for fantastic food, and we love to highlight this. You're right though, we do need to encourage attendees to only have a light breakfast (if at all)
