I was lucky enough to be stranded in Miami So I could go to the opening of EMILIO Sánchez a Cuban artist that is a great painter The show was from art owned by collectors that live in the area It was superb!!!

This is a well designed museum with a wide ranging collection. If you enjoy sampling Asian art, African art, Native American art, photography, Italian Renaissance art, and contemporary art, this is an interesting destination. The 20th century and contemporary art was probably the most important. An enjoyable visit.

Located at the University of Miami its not a large museum yet it has a wide range of artifacts. They have exhibits, photographs, paintings. Right now they have 'Highlights from the Fairholm Unlimited Foundation'.

This is mostly a collection of Asian and African artifacts with very little paintings or photographs to inspire imagination. Two galleries were closed.

The art collection contained within the Lowe makes for a good 1 to 2 hour visit. A wide range of periods and styles is on display. The contemporary portion is especially interesting. Beware of the people though. The campus police are simply offensive and very pushy. They are not at all tolerant of tourists and those who are unaccustomed to... More

We stopped at this museum after debarking our cruise in Miami and having to find a decent indoor activity due to rain. It's not very large and can be completed in about an hour or so. Very quiet and peaceful. Everything is laid out in an archaeological manner, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The exhibits vary from artifacts to beautiful and... More

I lived in the area for three years before I visited the Lowe Museum. Since it's on the University of Miami campus, I dismissed as uninteresting which was a mistake. It has some excellent collections of native North and South American art; American art; and photography; among others. Like most museums, most of the holdings aren't on view at any... More
