Excellent Clams!

We purchased 100 clams from Southern Cross. The price was excellent and they tasted amazing! I highly recommend stopping into their retail store while in Cedar Key!

We traveled to Cedar Key, FL to take in the sights. We got sidetracked by a line of people waiting to get into Southern Cross Clam Hatchery and decided to check out what was going on. The tour guide was excellent - he answered everyone's questions regarding the clams from fertilizing to harvesting. Did you know that in the state... More

We took a tour of the Southern Cross Sea Farm and enjoyed it so much! It was educational to learn how sustainable aqua-farming is! We got to see from start to finish how they fertilize, raise, and take the 'clam-seed' out into the bay to live until they are large enough (in 2 years) to harvest. What an amazing process.... More

Tours are given on Friday at 1. Covered the whole process of clam farming. Fascinating. I doubt children would like it but great for adults.

If you are in Cedar Key don't miss the free tour of the Southern Cross Sea Farms. It was very informative, interesting and well worth the time spent. Our guide was friendly and gave an in depth explanation of how the clam farming operation works. Would highly recommend!

We always stop at Southern Cross on the way out of Cedar Key to fill our coolers with Fresh Clams. Always good prices, very good seafood and they will provide ice to pack it up with.

I have bought seafood here many times and have no complaints what so ever. Friendly folks. They have great clams and other types of seafood to purchase.

We were having an oyster roast and drove over to try the Cedar Key oysters. We bought 3 bags of 50 at $17 a bag and a small bag of clams. I wasn't sure how to prepare the clams, but the friendly fellow helping us told us to throw them on the grill with the oysters. The oysters were a... More

Stopped there the last weekend of October , they were not impacted by the recent storm Hermaine and were up and operational.. Bought 3 bags of large clams, great service... Would love to do their free tour the next time I visit since they really have the clam farming down to a routine..Very cool the way they farm the clams... More

Drove an hour from Crystal River and were looking forward to buying a couple of bags of clams. Although their web site shows they are open on Saturday, they were closed. We stopped before lunch and after lunch. Very disappointing.
