This is a favorite stop for me. For those not seeing wildlife, we must remember, this isn't Disney. You need to be up and about when wild animals feed. The headquarters itself is a fantastic stop where I always spend too much time talking to...More

We loved seeing the rookery on a nearby island! We observed a number of different birds including pelicans, and roseate spoonbills. We also learned about the clam industry.

We were disappointed that we did it see any wildlife. I guess it was too hot and not the right time of the year to see any.

I have seen more wildlife on the grounds of my community! A nine mile road to nowhere! Don't bother!

Like another reviewer said, this is definitely a hidden gem. Nice hiking. We brought our bug spray, as when we went, the mosquitoes were out big time. Be sure to go at dusk and look for the bat house when the bats are going out...More

Drove through the refuge and made quick stops but saw lots of wildlife. Touted as a birding paradise and although we saw a few birds, we enjoyed seeing some alligators, and wild boars and deer. Went in the early evening and it was delightfully deserted
