Historic site with a great visitor's center. Lots of trails that give a view of the Florida of the past. Great picnic areas and an awesome playground for the kids.

We walked the peace river trail. It was beautiful and peaceful! The state park is very small and well-maintained. The picnic area also had a playground and would be a great place for the whole family to enjoy an afternoon.

This park has something for history buffs, hikers, bird watchers and paddlers. We visited early in the morning (in the month of July) as we knew it would "get right hot" as they say in these parts, not to mention that thunder storms pop up...More
