The Children's Science Explorium, located inside Sugar Sand Park Community...

The Children's Science Explorium, located inside Sugar Sand Park Community Center, is a hands-on science center designed for children 5 - 12 years of age and their caregivers. We offer fascinating and interactive exhibits, programs and camps that bring the physical sciences to life.

In addition to our permanent exhibit collection, the Explorium offers its visitors a variety of traveling exhibits each year. From rockets to molecules, the museum engages and teaches children about the fantastic world of science!

(Please note: The outdoor Science Playground will be closed for renovations beginning June 15, 2015. Look for our new fully accessible, all abilities playground Spring 2016. The Tot Lot & Carousel will be open.

Always fun for kids

Kids always find something of interest here. My daughter really liked the summer camp last year. Every day she had so much to talk about! But book early as not many spots.

Children's Science Explorium is a hands-on science museum for children of all ages and most of the exhibits are set up for them to touch, handle & do experiments. Special exhibits change regularly and others are there permanently. My 8 year old grandson has been going there for 7 years now and he's still not tired of it. I'd give... More

We took our 7-year-old son here on a rainy afternoon and he had a great time. The Explorium contains two rooms of exhibits. When we went, one room was mostly focused on ways to help the disabled, which didn't really hold his attention. The other room had several hands-on exhibits which he enjoyed playing with. I was concerned that he... More

We took our 4 and 7 year old grandchildren to Sugar Sand park where the Explorium is. They had a great time and enjoyed trying all the activities. When the playground is finished it will be even better! .

went on MLK sunday. Children looked like they were having a blast. Nice location, pleasant area, great to stop b/c it's about 4 miles from federal highway, near the military trail.

We have a little girl and she has a blast exploring and playing with all of the science experiments. Even though she is too young to understand how it all works she enjoys visiting. I can't believe it is free!

My kids are 8 and 10 and this about the max. age. It is very interesting, but you cannot spend more than one hour. But it is perfect for a hot day, some intelligent distraction.

Thank you for your review and we are glad you like the park. In terms of the Explorium, what we have available during the summer is around half the size of our normal exhibit space. We close one full room of exhibits to make room for summer camps. Please come back in the Fall to see our full lineup of... More
