This beach is very clean, and not overcrowded at all. It is a state park, so you just pay a fee for the car to enter. There are tons of iguanas creeping around, which is always cool to see (at least for us tourists). The...More

Sadly, there did not appear to be much left of this beach when we visited in January. :( It had been mostly wiped out from the hurricane.

Skip it for several months. Can’t go on the ocean beach at all. Harbor is destroyed full of dead fish and sea grass. You can look through fence at torn up beach. Should really be listed as severely impaired or temporarily closed. Would like to...More

Hopefully, this is will save a few folks some money. Unfortunately, if this was an attractive beach before there is no evidence of it now. We paid full admission and only had access to a temporary bathroom, a small bridge path and an inlet beach...More

Wow what a difference two years makes. This place is a dump. Half the island is closed or simply scraped off the face of the earth. There's nothing to do here except smell the stench of low tide which permeates the air on the gulf...More

This excellent state park was seriously damaged by hurricane Irma. While some areas such as Cayusa Beach are available, much, such as the ocean beach and educational nature center remain closed.

Spent 2 nights in the extremely hard to get cabins - you need to make reservations a year in advance and then get lucky. We had stayed here a few years ago - beautiful beaches and lush vegetation- all gone from the recent hurricane ....More

Don't drive by this wonderful beach. Bahia Honda is just awesome. It's relatively quiet, the view over the old bridge is awesome and the water is amazingly clear. You'll never see a beautiful place like this very soon!

I love this place in the winter but some people try to reserve for several weeks and practically make their home there. It’s hard to get a reservation until your two weeks away from taking your trip. There’s no planning a head with this camp...More

We stopped in here just to take the iconic photo of the old bridge on our way back from Marathon for the day and we discovered so much more. I would definitely see hanging out here for the day. The beach was nice. They had...More

Bahia Honda just reopened after Hurricane IRMA. Only the gulf side of the park is open because of all the destruction. I'm not sure snorkeling is available at this time. A fence was installed to keep people off the Atlantic... More
