If you don’t like crowds, then December might just be the time for you to visit Bahia Honda State Park.. It was so quiet and peaceful when we went in December. There is an admission fee to enter, but you can leave and return the same day with your receipt. There are camping spots here and a lovely small beach. We were not camping. We just popped in to see the park as we were driving to Key West. In Key West, December is not that cold … not sure I would swim here in December but camping would still be nice.

$4 Per Person to get into this state park which holds 3 beaches, plenty of car parking, visitor center, eateries, hiking trails and a marina. The beach is kept natural to keep the ecosystem and the habitats safe; this means kelp, garbage and Man-o-Wars litter the beach. They are pretty beaches BUT Watch your step!

So thankful we stopped at this State Park while traveling the Keys. I originally thought I would be able to see the Seven Mile Bridge and take photos of it in the background -not realizing that there was another set of bridges at this location. We drove through the beautiful state park, found the 2 other bridges, walked out as far as we could on the bridge connecting to the old railroad bridge. This is very beautiful state park, with several areas to access the Gulf and Ocean. It's worth the stop to visit and see the other bridges created by Henry Flagler. Per the website there are many activiites that can be done at this state park - we were just driving through on a day trip.

So gorgeous, large and well maintained! Just beautiful there. We were there years ago after a hurricane and it was so sadly destroyed and deserted. Now it’s such a wonderful place to camp or spend the day. Clean bathrooms, dreamy water, plenty of space for everyone. It’s worth a stop!

Many different beaches available at the park. One is sandy with a roped swimming area. Others are mostly gravel, but have a shallow swim area. The park is beautiful- full of wildlife and fish swimming by you in the water. There is a shop that rents kayak and umbrellas as well selling food such as hamburgers, hot dogs and ice cream. There are restrooms, outdoor showers and changing areas. It is a lovely place to spend the day.

This park is huge. You pay per person, $9 for the two of us. Free to park. We went right and sat at the beach for a good 4 hours. Yes there is seaweed on shore but the water is clear and warm. To go to a bigger beach, go left to Sandspar, the better of all the beaches. More sandy bottom, sand, less seaweed onshore. Bigger area to spread out and not sit on other people. They have a snack shack, bathrooms etc. You can launch paddleboards, kayaks and a lot of people snorkeling. It was a great way to spend a few days by the water in the keys!

Beautiful beaches, a marina, and an old railroad bridge to take in the views. There are restrooms, a gift shop, and a concession stand. We were lucky enough to see a manatee in the marina. We spent an entire day here and will definitely be back. Go early to avoid frustration of looking for parking.

Gorgeous beach and park. We spent the day exploring, swimming, and chilling on the beach. The water was so inviting, the winds were high so we didn't attempt going snorkeling...but we will be back. Definitely recommend you stop if you are in the area or passing through.

Snorkel charter to looe reef was outstanding, affordable and well explained. Captain and Michelle were thorough, safety oriented and encouraging to both novice and experienced snorkelers. The ride there and back is amazing, the view underwater is stunning and almost unreal. This was the highlight of our experience of the keys, and we almost missed it all together, we only learned of the opportunity when we were renting an umbrella for the beach. This is a must do!

Beautiful and cozy. A wonderful beach that is not crowded at all. Gulf on one side and Atlantic on the other. If you want a nice relaxing beach this is a must do. There is a concession building , bathrooms and good parking.
