From developing a family tree we had found out that Charles Springer was our 7th great grandfather and that he was one of the wardens of the Old Swedes Church. Our families met at the Hendrickson house and were given a 3 hour tour of...More

What a marvelous treasure of "Old World meets New World" history! The church is still in operation, too. I find cemeteries intriguing--especially VERY old ones, so I probably spent more time than most would need to allot.

This historical church is still a place of worship now by an Episcopal congregation. It is a simple ,tranquil Holy place surrounded by a well kept cemetery. One of the oldest edifices in Wilmington.

It looks like a simple site outside, but when you go inside, you see much more. There is much history here, and there is a great staff running the place.
