Beautiful former manse of A.I. DuPont. Particularly liked the entrance hall and conservatory. Less grand by Newport standards seemed very family livable if one were wealthy. Grounds nicely landscaped and would be wonderful in blooming season.

They no longer take reservations. They now allow children, so it can get pretty crazy during peak times. No more guided tours and now there are many restrictions on where to go. It's OK now, but it used to be so much better... More

Allow yourself a minimum of 2 hours. Best is 3.5 hours. I stayed 2 hours and was not able to see all the gardens & carriage house. Enjoy your visit!
