Came in at the end of one tour/lectures about the historic courthouse. Without the guide, the room, while nicely restored, doesn't have much to offer. Best for history buffs to visit. Best to pair with the other historic sites nearby. We combined our visit with...More

Stopped off here while in the area. This place has a lot of great history on how Delaware became the first state and 13th colony. There is a free tour that our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Delaware.

Very interesting piece of colonial history with a nice, informative tour. This is the centerpiece of colonial New Castle and is well worth a visit.

Very well kept and clean Court House that describes our nations beginnings. Our guide was very outgoing and pleasant and provided a very interesting and educational presentation about the time period. Walk around outside the court house to see cobblestone streets.

There were guides in the room but busy talking to one another in the corner of the room. They did not offer any information. Nice courthouse that you could imagine a hearing taking place.

Bottom line, don't bother visiting without a tour guide, I think. The inside of the court house is a single room that I suspect is quite historically accurate. That means you can only walk through half of it, which takes a grand total of 60...More

We stopped here as our half way break on a road trip down to DC. The tour was informative although a but dry. I would recommend though since it is historically informative!

We have been traveling back and forth between Pennsylvania and Delaware for most of the last week. We had heard about Delaware being the three counties of Pennsylvania, but really did not know why. We came to New Castle hoping to learn. We now know....More
