My daughter, niece, and I took my sister on the ferry to Cape May in October to celebrate her birthday. Ferry ride was fine; just wish there would have been transportation from Cape May ferry to main town of Cape May. We did manage to...More
My wife and I took the ferry from Cape May to Lewes, DE to go down to VA to visit family. First time on the ferry. The terminal on the Cape May side is much more modern and updated than we expected. It was wonderful....More
We have taken this ferry many times and its always good. Traveling from the Virginia area to Wildwood and points north, we always take this boat ride. Its easy and convenient and the cost is not bad either. It really saves you a lot of...More
Booked on my phone and when showed up, just needed to give confirmation number, along with ID.
Whether in Lewes or Cape May, the terminals are convenient to wait. When on board the ferry, here are confortsble accomodations. Cushy seats, food and drink, and friendly...More
After looking online, I decided to call for tickets as we have an RV with a tow car and we were concerned that the wind was 25 mph. Lady I spoke with was very informative, friendly, and had us booked in no time.
First and foremost, the folks have this down to a science.
we often arrive early and they will change our reservations without hesitation as long as the next ship has room

Hi Mark — I think you’ll spend more time going out of your way to get to the ferry than if you just sit in traffic on 95. It’s 1.5 hrs from 95 to the ferry. The same if you go over the Bay bridge. Plus the ferry is a pretty long ride. I’m not sure what kind of traffic you’d hit on the Parkway. But I don’t think it’s a time saving strategy.
You might have a workaround to get onto 295 (I think) in NJ to bypass traffic on 95, but I haven’t gone that way in a long time.
The best advice is to leave early and return home on Saturday. Good luck!

Eva M, the Ferry is a well organised business. Travelers are advised to get into their vehicles in advance of the ferry docking. You might spend 5 minutes in your car but in no more than another 5 minutes, you are exiting. Might take a little longer if you are near the back but the crew unload the ferry evenly.
Enjoy the ride.
