Just stuck my head in and was in awe of the history and architecture. Closed my eyes and could hear the echo's of history. Wish I had more time!

Dover is a small town compared to many other state capitals and the area around Legislative Hall is usually pretty friendly. The Hall itself is nothing spectacular, but a simple colonial building reflecting the history of the area. There are several other state museums and historic sites close by. The areas around the Hall host many festivals and fairs and... More

This is a small state and thus a small state capitol. That does not mean that the Legislative Hall should be over looked! I am happy we got to see it and political history and current affairs of state were ours for the taking, if we wanted. The guide knew Delaware and knows.it well. She took us to all of... More

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and provide interesting facts. They are very proud of Caesar Rodney. He was described as the "Paul Revere" of Delaware. Great tour with lots of history.

Walked right in and tour guide was ready for us. It wasn't very busy so we were off quickly. Guide knew her stuff and we asked lots of questions since we didn't really know much about Delaware. Probably took about 45 minutes or so and worth going here if go to First Heritage state park. It's all close together

My tour of Legislative Hall, Delaware's Capitol building was just a wonderful experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and even gave insights and asides to the building's history and renovations. The site is rich in history and if your group happens to be small, one might see some areas of the building that would not be included on a... More

Be sure to call ahead. Due to a fire on Oct 8 the Capitol is closed and there are no tours. We tried to visit on Nov 2, 2015. Nothing on the web site either. There are other buildings to visit in the immediate area but we are "collecting" capitols and left disappointed.

Because of the bad expiriences in other Statehouses yesterday we look on the Homepage, there was no restrictions posted. Today we go hundred miles to Dover, but the State Capitol was closed. It's closed for renovation since 14 days. The only thing was three dozen sites paper in a bad quality.

This is a working Hall, with Delaware's General Assembly in session between January and June each year. It's still the focus of many a school field, almost year round. It's a small building by comparison to most State Legislative Halls and the décor is very traditional colonial. It's nothing fancy but has balconies in both the House and Senate Chambers... More
