I have been to many aviation museums and this is the first that I've seen so many of the large cargo planes that are accessible and the history of some of the planes on the inside. Also, having access to a once-active tower is great! It gave a terrific view of the Dover AFB airstrips and planes nearby. They have... More

For anyone interested in airplanes, or Air Force history, this place is a must see. There are a lot of interactive displays, loads of planes to walk around and/or through...including the largest in the AF inventory - the C-5 Galaxy. And...best of all...it's FREE!!! You can't beat the value!!!

This museum has an indoor and outdoor component and best of all, it's FREE to visit! (donations are accepted) Inside the hangar there's an interactive simulator along with several planes and areas dedicated to wars that the USA have been involved in...outdoors, there are about 25 planes and helicopters to see up close and personal. Allow at least an hour... More

If you are in Dover for any reason this is a must see. At first we were only doing a self guided tour, but later found that an actual tour guide was a much better way to go! The guides are very knowledgeable. Our guide was a veteran and we got the impression that they all were veterans. Lots to... More

As with any not so interactive museum, it's just objects. But the good thing about this museum, is that there are always volunteers available. And they know what they are talking about, because they flew in the planes and helicopters. And were else do you get the chance to see the inside of a C5? WOrth a detour.

Been here several times and have always been impressed with the many types of (primarily) transport aircraft in great condition. Visitors can even sit in the cockpits of several of the aircraft. The museum is also a good way to understand what airman had to go through, especially during WW II and in the cold war.

Our visit was so very enjoyable. A museum based upon American history that permits hands with many displays. The line was long for the simulator, so we stood back and watched. Being able to tour the aircraft was amazing. The staff, especially the veterans were very knowledgeable and friendly. We hope to stop again some day!

Many aircraft on display and personal there are more than happy to tell all about the many things there. How they were used in combat and in peace time, they are more than happy to take you on a tour and help you understand thing on display.

The museum offered plenty of history and friendly staff. The large displays were clean and presented great detail. Overall an amazing stop that I am glad to have taken on my travels.

Awesome tour guides! Enjoyed hearing both their personal stories and the individual aircraft histories! We got to board 4 different aircraft!
