My Mother and I really lucked out because we came at a non-busy time and ended up getting a private tour. Our guide was excellent - he really knew a ton about the houses and the history and his love for the properties showed. Each house was different and had its own great stories including when General Washington came to... More

Very interesting tour, given by an experienced and knowledgeable guide/docent. The homes are well maintained, the historical and contemporary furniture and other pieces tell a great story of life in Old Wethersfield. Very inexpensive ($10/person), I recommend this to anyone interested in early American history and/or genealogy.

The tour is very interesting. Kim was our guide and she was enthusiastic and thorough. You see homes with authentic antique furnishings. We thought the Nutting exhibit was not very interesting.

I don't understand why they charge so much for a museum, yeah it is nice they are reconstructed and kept the way they were originally but there isn't that much in these houses that is worth the 8 dollars a person.

Unimpressed. Paid $8 a person - but was placed in a tour that was near completion and subsequently not allowed to look in the 3 rooms that were part of the exhibit.

We had a great guided tour through the three Webb Deane Stevens houses. Wonderful historic insights were discussed during the tours with information about the various inhabitants, guests and former owners. The historic importance is significant in that decisions were made that lead to the British surrender at Yorktown. These are original 18th century houses with period decor and furnishings... More

Went during the Holiday season, decorated for the period. it was quite lovely. If you go in warmer weather they have beautiful gardens with lots of heritage specimens.

We came for the candlelight tour as an outing for my husband's birthday in December. Wonderful treats to eat, each house was beautifully decorated and the docents were enthusiastic! And their LED flickering candles were wonderful!

Over the river and through some woods to the Webb Deane Stevens Museum decked out for the holidays. They are exhibiting the houses decorated as they would have been over three different centuries so not only did we learn about local historical dignitaries but we got a glimpse into holidays of times past. Our tour guide, Howard, was awesome. He... More

I always bring out-of-town guests to Old Wethersfield. The Webb/Deane/Stevens Houses and Museum is particularly impressive over Memorial Day Weekend when there is a Revolutionary War Encampment of soldiers on the grounds and walking along Main Street in front of one of the houses. History buffs will enjoy an afternoon in Old Wethersfield. Plan a visit on an Autumn Day... More
