On a cool, windy and rainy day in early September we were looking for a pleasant place to take a walk. What a beautiful place. The gardens are plentiful and well maintained. The walk along the shore was very nice despite the weather. The grounds...More

A CT gem, when in the area be sure to visit. Enjoy the grounds, looking at the mansion from the outside and walking along the beach. You can't swim here, fishing is permitted.

The park is very nice for picnics. Viewing the beach and ocean is entertaining but you cannot swim. I was very disappointed that the mansion is only open weekends and then sometimes there are weddings and events.

We visit Harkness often in the off season to hike and bird the coast. Well worth a trip to enjoy this beautiful facility.
