I drove in from LaGuardia, only to see a big sign saying I needed a permit to park, no matter what the season, boasting it was monitored to make sure you had one... except there was no place I could see to get a permit. I did, however, see a cop patrolling in a vehicle--of course, not close enough to... More

Cove Island can get very crowded on nice days, but what a great place to go for activities like running, biking, roller skating, flying kites, bar b cues, etc. There's a great playground and lots of beach shoreline. A track circles the park that's about a mile, so I love coming here as a runner. Tram service is available to... More

Even winter is a great time for experiencing a peaceful and relaxing moment at Cove Island Park. There is a mile track spanning the park so it's a great place to get your walking/biking/skating/running routine done without stress. Lots of people bring their dogs too. I do and Lili just loves the meet and greet; not to mention the doggie... More

There are good pathways for walking, biking, rollerblading, all rather flat so not strenuous. The beach is nice and the slope is gradual so you can go out a fair distance and still have your feet on the bottom. There are some rock overhangs from which people are often fishing. There is also a store selling simple food items but... More

I love to go for a walk at Cove Island Park, specially to watch the sunset or go for a run in the morning while the sun rises.

All year: great place to breathe sea air, stroll, and watch kite-flying, in-line skaters and stone-skippers. In the summer, with a Stamford City sticker or day-pass, it's a perfect beach experience. Off-season, access is free and anyone can enjoy an invigorating stroll along the shore or a slow walk along a flat and easy loop.

This is one of the better beaches in the area to walk around and take in more than just a shoreline. Great park to sit and have a picnic besides a solid beach.

I was visiting Connecticut from out of town and decided that I wanted to check out this park. What a great find! Being from out of state you don't have to pay if it's off season. It was a beautiful walking area with beaches and a little park for children. Everybody was so friendly!

While everyone crowds a beach in summer, you can really appreciate its beauty in fall - sheltered by Long Island, it succombs slowly to winter, and the easy mile walk from West to East Beach shows the diversity of the landscape. Rocky outcrops, trees, looking out to a strip of land, to the sand of the horseshoe-shaped East beach, turning... More
