It was a lovely village near the beach in Tam Ky which all the houses were painted by mural artists. The beach was clean, and the atmosphere was friendly and peaceful. Not many things to do in the village, only relaxing on the beach was the best thing to do when we were there.

So nice to get away from all the tourists in Hoi An, this was such a nice peaceful and relaxing place to come. Beautiful art painted on houses, walls makes it refreshing. Nice walk along the beach also with just fishing boats and you - loved it here and walked along the beach and back through the village. Well worth making the time to visit here, there are a number of things to see on the way - tunnels, heroic mother statue. Half day trip.

As others have, I went on a scooter to Tam Thành with my guide Huyen. The day was bright and sunny. The landscape from Hoi An changes dramatically, you ride a straight road through very white sand with really green trees growing in it. Then when you arrive at the village its nestled in thick trees and bamboo growing out onto a peninsula with the blue ocean on one side and the fish farm lined river on the other. It’s truely lovely.
We stopped at one place for fresh pressed sugar cane juice then went further down and spotted a lady selling the mornings catch on the side of the road. We selected some fish and the owner of the house/restaurant cooked them for us! They were the best flavour I’ve had since arriving!
The murals are fabulous, all the colours are such a vibrant mix and the people friendly and open. We wandered around for about two hours and then enjoyed our lunch.
The NGO streetart project has enabled the community to maintain its heart and add a supplemental income for the fishing village. Tourists who want to assist local communities remain ‘local’ should come here and walk with your guide and speak to the locals and enjoy the feel of this tranquil village.

Great Korean Viet cooperation and the results are stunning plus its also beachside. Great beach. There are twenty or so murals done and the locals are very welcoming in terms of photo taking and encroaching into people's gardens to take pix.

We went there and the people are so friendly. We met a very sweet family with a mural in their house, they have physical disability, so they paint bags for a living. You can buy one for 100.000 dongs. It's a huge help. The village is chill and good vibes. Highly recommended!

I went here with my friend by motorbike on the Second of September, we took more than 2 hrs because we didn't know where it was and asked the local on the way go here.
About the location, it quite far from the main city and in small area near the beach, we went Tam Thanh in sunny day so we saw the beautiful blue beach with white blue sky, that we will never forget that image.
We spent more than one hour here to walk around and take photos, there were many young people at that time too.
The local people are very nice and friendly, you can easily find a motorbike parking in their house and change clothes or make up before enjoying here.
One more thing that you need to have hats or umbrella because it's very hot in summer. We forgot umbrella so we borrowed it with 10.000 VND.
I think this will be a good place for young people enjoy summer holidays S poo I will recommend my friends visit Tam Thanh.

Visiting Tam Thanh village in a late afternoon, it was so crowded by visitors but this pretty fresco village still kept its calm and peace. Tam Thanh village is considered as the first fresco village in Vietnam where houses were painted colorfully by images of real life and hopes of the villagers. This turns this small village into an unforgettable place. Local people are so gentle and friendly, they are always smiling despite their tough life with the ocean.
Love every moment I was there!

Local Artisans at Tam Thanh Village

Before stepping foot, this was a last second accommodation booked through Tui Blue Nam Hoi An. This tour may be different from other tour groups as I believe our tour was called Local Artisans at Tam Thanh Village. The Tui Blue resort and local people have teamed up which was very heart felt. Forgive me as I tried to be as accurate as possible, but some names could be misspelled and some facts slightly off.

First and foremost, a big thank you to Nora as she made this excursion possible. At first, we did not think it would happen since we inquired late in the day and thought we were unable to do it on a Saturday afternoon. After further exploration, Nora was able to hook us up with Hop who made this day trip very personable as she was our private guide.

The small fishing village is one all should experience. There is much history and pride in this fishing village.

The slight customization with an additional cost was the UTV ride. Instead of biking or shuttle or whatnot, we drove the UTV down the beach from the resort to the fishing village. It was a lot of fun. The cool thing is, I got to drive it back to the resort once we finished, weaving in and out of obstacles, as well as people literally scattered on the beach which was a fun experience.

At the start of our excursion, we all jumped into the UTV driven by Toan. He drove a little bit of the racetrack on the side of the resort and then off we went to the Tam Thanh Mural Village.

The first stop was at the basket boats which were colorfully painted influenced by the Vietnamese and Koreans as creating “Art for a Better Community.” We will be back to the basket boats later.

Upon arrival to the fishing village on the beach, we saw some local fisherman with their net cast away in the shallow waters. We learned what fish was caught now would be the evening meal for the family. All that was used was a net, a friend to help as they would cast, wait for half an hour, and pull in by hand. It was eye opening to see what was caught and to understand a way of life.

Next, we started to wander Tam Thanh. I believe there are about 100 houses with murals on them as the locals we encountered were quite friendly and willing to interact with us.

Our first local stop was to Ms. Lap house as she was making Mi Quang noodles, which is a specialty here in which we got to help make ourselves after watching the pro. Then we were given a bag with some crackers and some of her personal Jack Fruit.

While continuing to walk through the village, we accidentally ended up at Anton house. Anton wife invited us over as they had a nice mural of him sewing. Anton is deaf and the family takes great pride in sewing handbags and hats which hopefully would be approved by the resort.

Our second stop was to Ms. Lan house. It’s here we were introduced to ‘Ngoc Lan’ fish sauce being made and sold to both the resort and within the community. We saw this at the resort. It’s a 100-year-old company with 4th generation running it and possibly baby Rice to be the future. We met grandma who is 91 years old. After we toured the area where they have the fish sauce in the back, we broke bread together which was the Mi Quang noodles that we made earlier and crackers while dipping it into their fish sauce, garlic, and chilis. It was very tasty.

Our third stop along the way was to the basket boats on the Jute (long river). There was an opportunity to take some very cool pictures of the sun on the horizon reflecting on the water. Here we jumped into two basket boats. I was in a boat with Hop and a boat guy. It was my turn to row as it took me some time to get a feel for it. Hop was so encouraging, as well as our boat guy as I think he just wanted a smoke. Ha! After some time, I was able to get it going by finding my groove, and genuinely having fun. Thanks, Hop.

Afterwards, we met Toan on the beach to go back to the resort. They asked if I wanted to drive us back in which I was like Yeah. Let’s Go! It was a lot of fun and the UTV can really pick up speed, but it was very important to pay attention even though I wanted to have fun selfies. More so, it was getting dark out, so it was a race to get back to the resort, watching out for people and obstacles in the sand.

Once back to the resort, Hop shared some pictures and videos of our day spent together. I think the total time was 4+ hours. This was nice to do with family as we had our own private and custom tour while learning and interacting with the Tam Thanh community.

Later I found out, Duyen had started to interact with the Tam Thanh community once she arrived at Tui Blue Nam resort. She helped to build initial relationships, as well as work alongside the village bringing in some local products to their resort. However, doing tours was not her specialty as she was more behind the scenes. This was perfect for Hop. Hop is great with the community and has their utmost respect. She’s amazing with my family and I imagine all she encounters including myself. She’s very comforting, informed, and undoubtedly easy to get along with.

Big thank you to all who made this happen starting with Nora. If this is booked through Tui Blue Nam resort, please inquire what sights are accessible and if Hop is available to be your guide.
