Really, he did. During WWII this was the meeting place for the air raid wardens. An olde timey tavern that hasn't changed much since the 1930's. Not outstanding food, but a beer and a hamburger is all you need.

Stop by the bar on a weekday on a business trip. There were only locals in the bar. After a drink or two locals invited us into their conversation. Really enjoyed BSing with the locals. Good Diva bar!

They serve these burgers or cheeseburgers and that's really about it. I think they serve some sandwiches too but the reputation has always been for a beert and a good burger. They are cheap, normal burgers that are fresh and good. The place is SMALL and I think some of the patrons never leave, but if your in need of... More

This is a small, intimate, old-fashioned tavern harking back to better days. The staff know all their customers and are, not surprisingly, customers themselves when not on duty. Beer, wine and cider are served-- no hard liquor--so a certain civility prevails. Luncheon menu selection is small but the food is excellent. Homemade soups, chowders, and chili are featured daily.
